Gypsum provides curbside trash pick-up on Monday through Friday. Trash containers need to be set out no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and no later than 7:30 a.m. Unsure which day your trash is picked up? Please call 970-401-4895 to verify.

Curbside Trash Pickup Reminders

Approved Containers

• Only Town of Gypsum-issued trash containers may be used.

Service Requirements

• All trash service providers and customers must follow the Town of Gypsum’s municipal codes and ordinances for trash service.

Container Options & Rates

• Standard 95-gallon residential containers:
  $110 one-time user fee + $27.23 per pickup, per month.
• Bear-resistant containers:
  $110 one-time user fee + $39.37 per pickup, per month.

Container Placement

• Position your container so the arrow on the lid points toward the street.
• Place containers at the curb no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and no later than 7:30 a.m on your scheduled pickup day.
• Remove containers from the curb and store them out of public view by 7:00 p.m. on the day of collection.

Proper Use

• All trash must fit inside the container. Items placed on top of, leaning against, or next to the container will not be collected.
• Container lids must be fully closed. Trash will not be collected if the lid is open.
• Keep containers at least 3 feet away from vehicles, fences, or other obstacles. If the truck cannot safely reach the container, trash will not be collected.
• For the safety of our drivers, we ask that they remain inside their vehicle while providing trash collection services.

Prohibited Materials

• Construction debris (including wood, drywall, concrete, etc.) and hazardous materials (such as paint and oil) are not allowed.
• Used motor oil can be recycled at the Gypsum Public Works facility at 3297 Cooley Mesa Rd.

Additional Services

• Oversized or extra trash pickups are available for an additional fee.
• Yard waste qualifies as an “additional pickup.”
• Weeds and grass clippings must be bagged.
• Tree branches are not accepted.

Senior Rates

• Reduce trash rates are available for residents aged 65 and older.

Trash containers must be kept out of plain view from the street. If you store your container inside an enclosure, the enclosure must meet Town of Gypsum Building Code requirements.
