Gypsum’s Hometown Heroes Veteran Banner Program

The image honors John Smith Jones, a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, as part of Gypsum's Hometown Heroes.

Honoring Those Who Served – Today and Every Year
The Town of Gypsum is proud to launch a new initiative honoring the brave individuals who have served our country. This Veterans Day, we will introduce the Hometown Heroes Veterans Pole Banner Program, a community‑driven effort to recognize local veterans by proudly displaying personalized pole banners throughout town.

Each banner will feature a hometown hero and will be installed every year, in perpetuity, during the Veterans Day holiday—a lasting tribute that becomes part of our annual tradition of gratitude and remembrance.

Now we need your help.
We’re calling on the community to help us identify Gypsum’s veterans—past or present—who deserve to be honored. Whether a family member, friend, neighbor, or someone whose service you want to see recognized, we invite you to submit their information and be part of this meaningful display.

Let’s fill Gypsum with the faces and names of those who have protected our freedoms.
Join us in celebrating and preserving the legacy of our hometown heroes.
