Project Name: Slurry Seal Project

Project location/address:  South section of Gypsum Creek Road & Chatfield Corners streets

Project Description: Starting Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, from about 8 AM to 5 PM each day, crews will be applying slurry seal to various roads throughout Chatfield Corners and along the southern portion of Gypsum Creek Road. This is part of our regular street maintenance to keep things looking great for years to come.

What’s Slurry Seal? This is a preventative maintenance treatment that applies a blend of asphalt emulsion, water, finely crushed rock, and additives to existing pavement. This process helps preserve and extend the life of our roads by creating a durable, protective surface.

What to Expect:

  • Work Hours: Most work will take place between 8 AM and 5 PM each day.
  • Temporary Road Closures: Roads being worked on will be fully closed to traffic during these hours.
  • Live or work on one of these streets? You’ll need to park outside the work zone and walk to/from your home/business while crews are working.
  • By 5:00 PM, the surface will typically be ready to drive on again, and normal road access will resume for residents and businesses.

 Gypsum Creek Road: During slurry seal work on Gypsum Creek Road (between Brightwater & the end of the pavement), the road will remain open; however, traffic will be reduced to a single lane, with flaggers managing alternating traffic flow. Thanks in advance for your patience!

Gypsum Creek Road

  • Monday, 6/29 - 7/1 (orange, purple & green lines on first image) - Gypsum Creek Road between Brightwater & the end of the pavement.

Chatfield Roads

  • Monday, 6/29 (orange lines on second image) - Summer Meadow Street, Springfield Ct. & Springfield St. 
  • Tuesday, 6/30 (purple lines on second image) - Autumn Glen St., Autumn Glen Ct. & west end of Chatfield Lane.
  • Wednesday, 7/1 (green lines on second image) - East end of Chatfield Lane near the main Chatfield entrance.
