GYPSUM TRAFFIC ALERTS
Road construction season continues in Gypsum & Eagle due to the Comcast Build-Out project, two Black Hills Energy Pipeline projects, and a paving project along Hwy 6 in Eagle. Please remember to go slow in the cone zone and thank you for your continued patience.
- COMCAST BUILD-OUT PROJECT: Shoulder work will continue along Hwy 6 in the area of Turgeonville Park and but will not impact traffic flow. Crews have now moved construction work into various residential areas/neighborhoods in Gypsum. Please be mindful of construction activity in these areas and use slower speeds when driving. - VALLEY RD. TO COTTONWOOD PASS RD. PIPELINE PROJECT: Trenching operations in the southbound lane of Valley Road are moving south past Cotton Ranch Dr.. New detour beginning Monday,7/6 will be - Cotton Ranch Dr. to Black Bear to Timberwolf - Please be mindful of your speed through this residential area. Pipeline work will also continue at Cottonwood Pass Road but will have minimal if any, traffic impact.
- HWY 6 EAGLE TO GYPSUM PIPELINE PROJECT: Lane closures due to this project will now impact the acceleration/deceleration lanes ONLY along eastbound Hwy 6. Please continue to be mindful of the shoulder work in several spots along Hwy 6 west of the airport and use caution when passing these work zones.
- HWY 6 PAVING PROJECT IN EAGLE: Single-lane closures due to the Town of Eagle Hwy paving project between the Brush Creek and west to the Eagle/Gypsum town border will continue through Friday, 7/10. Paving operations will take place, 7:00 AM -7:00 PM. No work will occur on Saturday, 7/4 or Sunday, 7/5.
During this time, expect significant traffic backups and delays along westbound Hwy 6 through Eagle, at the Hwy 6 / Sylvan Lake Roundabout, and on Sylvan Lake Road at Hwy 6. Also, as commuters choose to avoid this area, we are seeing higher volumes of traffic at the westbound I-70 off-ramp in Gypsum. Added flaggers and traffic control will be present at this exit ramp weekdays starting at 5:00 PM.
