Eagle County Sheriff
The Eagle County Sheriffs' department responds to calls all over the Eagle Valley. Additionally, the Town of Gypsum contracts with the department to provide law enforcement in our town. Click on the link to learn more.
Western Eagle County Ambulance District (WECAD)
WECAD serves all of Eagle County as first responders, emergency service workers, and medical care providers. They can always use more volunteers. Click the link to visit their website.
Gypsum Fire Protection District
Our philosophy is “We are willing to go any time, any place to help with any emergency.” The Gypsum Fire Protection District is your friend and neighbor ready and willing to help at a moments notice – 24 hours a day – 365 days a year. This group consists of two paid career firefighters and 26 volunteer firefighters with a cadet program for high school kids ages 14 to 18. The fire district has existed since 1982 and the department has served the town since 1911. The cadet program a/k/a the “Company Nine” has functioned since 1991.

Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
The Bureau of Land Management is in charge of taking care of many areas in the Eagle Valley. BLM land is generally available to all citizens for camping, fishing and other recreation. Always view ALL posted signs for usage information including burning rules and information. Gypsum is host to an improved BLM campground with sites and picnic tables on the Colorado River, just 2 miles west of Gypsum on the frontage road.
Eagle County Government
The "county seat" is located in Eagle, about 10 miles east of Gypsum. The Eagle County Government offices are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Visit their website to learn more about services in Eagle County.
